Walls online — free, in your browser

Two pawns start on opposite edges and race to the other side. On your turn you either take one step or spend one of your walls to lengthen your opponent's route. A wall may never close a route completely — there is always a way through, it just gets longer.

How to play Walls

The same walkthrough the table opens with — you can replay it in the game at any time.

Welcome to Walls

Your pawn starts at the bottom and wins by reaching the top row. Your opponent starts at the top and wants the bottom.

One step at a time

Tap a highlighted square to step there. If the other pawn is right in front of you, you may jump straight over it.

Or spend a wall

Switch to a wall and drop it into a groove between squares. It blocks both players, you only have so many, and it can never seal a route off completely.

That's the game

Walls are worth most when they cost your opponent more steps than they cost you. Spend them too early and you'll be walking the rest of the race unarmed.

Walls: questions

Is Walls free to play here?

Yes. Walls is free to play on PlayTable, and playing against the AI does not even need an account.

What do I need to play Walls?

A browser. Walls runs on any modern phone, tablet or computer, and you can add PlayTable to your home screen if you want it to open like an app.

Can I play Walls against friends?

Yes. Sign in with your email, create a lobby, and share the six-character code or the invite link. Everyone plays from their own device, and the match is checked on the server so nobody can see a hand that is not theirs.

I don't know the rules of Walls. Can I learn here?

Yes — Walls opens with a guided tutorial on the real table that points at the real cards, and the steps above are that same walkthrough. It takes about two minutes.
